Don't judge me because I just now made my 4 year old give up his Paci. Yes, I know it is bad for his teeth, yes, I know he is too old, yes, I know, it looks ridiculous...blah blah blah. I am his mommy, he is my baby. It was hard for us! But, we finally did it!
Griffin Walter Sutherland is Pacifier free!!!!!!!!!
Griffin had actually pretty much given it up at 3 years old right before the babies were born, but then they came home and he saw their paci's and Walt and I were so deathly tired, we just gave him his back without a fuss. We have tried several times in this past year but with school and the babies, we would always give in and give it back. Well, last week he was getting ready for bed and he went into the bathroom to potty and it happened...He dropped his beloved orange and green paci in to the toilet! He wanted me to go wash it but I told him I was too tired and I would do it in the morning, but for that night he had to sleep without it. The next morning he asked for it but I told him I still hadn't washed it so he went to school and forgot it. When he got home he asked again and I told him I couldn't get it clean (it still had pee pee water on it...yuck!). Well that was last Monday, so on Sunday, almost 1 week Paci-free, I took him to Build A Bear and we made "Paci Panda". Grif took his favorite Paci, told it goodbye and I love you, stuck it in the Panda Bear and it got sewed up. He is now sleeping with that Panda every night and when he asks for his Paci, I remind him it is in Panda's tummy safe and sound. I threw his others in the trash just to remove temptation from myself. This has been just as hard on me as on Griffin. He is a big boy now, but he will always be my baby.

Good news, Bad news
I will start with the good news...I am officially a Registered Nurse. That's right, Becky Sutherland, RN!!! It was an incredibly long hard road and I still have to pinch myself to believe I actually made it. I survived nursing school while mothering a 3 year old, being pregnant with twins, then nursing twins (for 7 months). I couldn't have done any of it though without the love and support of my husband, Walt and our parents. Thank God for Nanny and Papa & Gigi and Poppa Jim! Now to find a job...maybe...
As for the bad news, my sweet little Collin has been so sick the past week. We are not sure of what is going on but a possible milk allergy has not been ruled out. He has "it" coming out of both ends and is pitiful to see. The nurse in me knows to keep him hydrated and monitor his weight loss but the mommy in me feels helpless and confused. Just keep the prayers coming...

"Falling" into something new
As fall quickly approaches I decided I would try something new, blogging. I am still job hunting but in the meantime I might as well do this. Being a "stay at home" mom to the twins is quite fun for now but I need to get my loan paid off which means I need to work. Griffin is enjoying 4 year old pre-school. He is learning to write his letters and his name. Collin and Emma amaze me everyday. They interact with each other so much now, it is so neat to watch. Collin currently has 8 teeth and Emma has 2 (finally!!). They love table food and will eat pretty much anything. They are attempting sippy cups but are still novices. Collin can walk but still prefers to crawl (it's faster I guess). Emma can take a step or two then fall down, she is a master crawler though! Collin's favorite new game is giving me stuff and saying "Thank You!" Emma is still just a cuddler and prefers to watch the boys play. As for Walt and myself...we are approaching the seven year mark. Incredible. And as much as we pick at one another and get stressed out over stuff, we love each other more than ever. His new job is going well but he still prefers to be here at home playing with the kids. Who wouldn't? We are currently getting ready for the Twin's first birthdays and Halloween. Fall and Winter are the favorite times of year in this house, so we can't wait for them to get here!
